In each State and Territory, it has been a hard fought race as committed and engaged young intern pharmacists have been interviewed and judged to be the best of their year. From the bush, from the cities and from country towns all over Australia five outstanding young pharmacists have told their story and shared their vision of the future of pharmacy.
South Australian intern Philip Spyrou has been announced as the PSA MIMS Australia SA/NT Intern of the Year for 2014.
Gunnedah intern Laura Norman has been announced as the PSA MIMS Australia NSW Intern of the Year for 2014.
Perth intern Monica Sajogo has been announced as the PSA MIMS Australia WA Intern of the Year for 2014.

Feedback on the recently released MIMS for Android app has been outstanding, with reviewers in the Google Play store rating it 4.8 out of 5. The app was developed in response to demand from clients, for an Australian specific locally installed Android app, which is the first of its kind.

Whilst there are a variety of internet enabled medicines applications, these are not suitable for hospitals due to the lack of access to wireless internet and blackspots in many public hospitals. In addition, mobile healthcare professionals and those working in remote locations are also often hindered by blackspots and lack of wireless connectivity. Until now, Android users have been at a disadvantage due to the lack of a locally installed Australian medicines app.
MIMS announced today that the company, as an Australian first, has partnered with UnityHealth to bring an Australian evidence based Complementary V Mainstream drug interaction module to market.
The development and expansion of the Pharmacists’ Support Service (PSS) has been given a boost through a generous donation of $2000 from MIMS. The donation will be put towards developing a Pharmacists’ Support Service website which will include a host of resources and information to support and assist pharmacists.
