Coding of clinical terms
The start of the New Year brings about the start of new opportunities. This brings to mind the increasing interest in and uptake of electronic medical records (EMR). Use of coded medical information aids doctors at the point of care when the information is used to populate decision support modules, such as allergy alerts. Effective sharing of patient information has been shown to increase the quality of patient care by the improved coordination across different healthcare disciplines. (more)
