New Product - Belkyra

Belkyra (deoxycholic acid) is a formulation of synthetically derived deoxycholic acid. Deoxycholic acid is a cytolytic drug, which when injected into localised subcutaneous fat, physically disrupts the cell membrane of adipocytes and causes cell lysis. Macrophages are attracted to the area to eliminate cellular debris and lipids, followed by the appearance of fibroblasts and observed thickening of fibrous septa. Belkyra injection is indicated for improvement in the appearance of moderate to severe convexity or fullness associated with submental fat in adults. Belkyra is contraindicated in the presence of infection in the treatment area. Belkyra 10 mg/mL solution for injection is supplied in single use 2 mL vials in packs of 4’s.
