New Contraindications

Alacare (5-aminolevulinic acid (as hydrochloride)) is now also contraindicated with known photodermatoses of varying pathology and frequency, e.g. metabolic disorders such as aminoaciduria, idiopathic or immunological disorders such as polymorphic light reaction, genetic disorders such as xeroderma pigmentosum and diseases precipitated or aggravated by exposure to sunlight such as lupus erythematosus or pemphigus erythematosus.

Apresoline (hydralazine hydrochloride) is now also contraindicated in porphyria.

Eviplera (tenofovir disoproxil fumarate, emtricitabine, rilpivirine) should not be administered concurrently with other medicinal products containing any of the same active components: tenofovir DF, emtricitabine, or with medicinal products containing lamivudine, tenofovir alafenamide or adefovir dipivoxil. Eviplera should not be coadministered with rilpivirine unless required for dose adjustment.

Evotaz (atazanavir sulfate/cobicistat) coadministration with the following is now also contraindicated due to the potential for serious and/or life threatening events or loss of virologic response and possible resistance: Anticonvulsants: carbamazepine, phenobarbital, phenytoin.

Nardil (phenelzine sulfate) should not be used in patients with cerebrovascular disease.

Targin (oxycodone hydrochloride and naloxone hydrochloride anhydrous) is now also contraindicated with a history of opioid abuse for restless legs syndrome.

Viekira Pak-RBV Combination Therapy Pack (paritaprevir/ritonavir/ombitasvir tablets + dasabuvir + ribavirin) use is now contraindicated with the following drugs: ranolazine, dronedarone and lurasidone. It is also contraindicated with breastfeeding.
