Supporting education and learning in the healthcare community

MIMS would like to congratulate Luke Vrankovich, the 2014 Inaugural MIMS Pharmacy Guild of Australia Intern of the Year. The winner was announced on 14th of March at the Australian Pharmacy Professional (APP) Conference on the Gold Coast. Congratulations also to all state Intern of the Year award recipients.

At MIMS, we believe the growth and development of young professionals is the cornerstone of future healthcare, and therefore we make every effort to support their education system. For the last 5 years, MIMS has proudly sponsored a number of state PSA Intern of the Year awards. This year, we are delighted to extend this sponsorship to all states and also to the Guild National Intern of the Year award. The recipients of these awards are given an educational grant from MIMS to assist them in their continual professional development.

Beyond the faculty of Pharmacy, MIMS provides selected free products to students via the MIMS Research and Student Program. This is a complimentary program open to Medicine, Nursing and Pharmacy faculties of Australian universities and accredited education institutions. Some of the provisions of this program include complimentary eMIMS access within pharmacy laboratories and no-personal-charge smartphone apps for students undertaking practical studies in public hospitals. MIMS also offers free data resources to several research projects including Sydney Memory and Aging and CSIRO: readmission risk prediction studies.

As part of the initiative, MIMS also runs training sessions to help healthcare staff and students get the most out of using MIMS reference products such as eMIMS. Our mission is to promote the safe and quality use of medicines in current and future generations through our support in healthcare studies and research.
