New Contraindications

Atripla (tenofovir disoproxil fumarate, emtricitabine and efavirenz) is now contraindicated with St John’s wort.

Nitro-Dur (glyceryl trinitrate) is now contraindicated in patients taking the soluble guanylate cyclase stimulator riociguat for chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension or pulmonary arterial hypertension, as concomitant use can cause hypotension.

Sensipar (cinacalcet hydrochloride) treatment should not be initiated in patients with chronic kidney disease receiving dialysis if serum calcium is less than 8.4 mg/dL (2.1 mmol/L) due to the risk of hypocalcaemia.
