Clarification to previous article

“Royal Children’s Hospital to deploy Closed Loop Medication Management” - MIMS Matters, Edition Winter 2014

The Winter Edition of our newsletter “MIMS Matters” featured an article highlighting that The Royal Children’s Hospital (RCH) Parkville (Melbourne) has commenced a project that will see the replacement of the current paper medical records and a number of departmental systems.

MIMS currently provides reference medicines information and drug clinical decision support to the RCH via the Victorian Department of Health’s Clinician’s Health Channel; however the provider of the Drug Formulary that will power the RCH EMR is expected to be decided through a formal procurement process. MIMS would like to clarify that the provider of RCH’s Drug Formulary is yet to be determined by this tender process.

If MIMS are successful with the proposed RFT then we look forward to providing MIMS local medicines knowledge and working with both the provider of the clinical system and the hospital’s pharmacists and clinicians to successfully deliver the closed loop medications management functionality, so essential to the EMR.
